There was a family event on a Shabbos that due to extenuating circumstances, a sibling needed to attend. It was extremely difficult for my family to go between a long distance travel, and also needing to find a place to put up my children. We also had a conflicting event on that Shabbos. My sister-in-law said that if she had to go, she wanted all of us to go because why should she be the only one that needed to miss out on her original plans. I told her that I wouldn’t do that, that if no one else would go, I would go, but I wouldn’t make anybody else go with me. Since none of the other siblings made a decision to go, my husband and I made the arrangements to go to this event. On Friday morning, we found out from a different family member that the sister was also going and at that time we had already committed to go as well. This was the day after Tisha B’Av so I told my husband that we will let it go. We won’t be upset and frustrated and we will keep shalom.
